22/07/2026 - Young actress Gina Jimenez toplines the filmmaker’s new feature, a Les Films du Bélier production to be sold by Kinology

Shooting is due to kick off on 3 August for Celles qui parlaient tout le temps (lit. "The Girls Who Talked All the Time"), the third feature by Héléna Klotz, after Atomic Age (Berlinale Panorama, Jean Vigo Award and Grand Prix at the Angers Premiers Plans Festival) and Spirit of Ecstasy (Toronto's Platform competition, a Lumières nominee for Most Promising Actress).

The cast features Gina Jimenez (who turned heads in The Doll and was seen notably in And Their Children After Them), Taïs Madalena, Salomé Boulven, Ruben Correa and Cédric Appietto (A Violent Life, The Victoria System).

Written by the director, Nicolas Laquerrière and Mehdi Ouahab, with the involvement of Jacques Audiard (recently nominated for the Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for Emilia Perez), the screenplay centres on 17-year-old Marie and 11-year-old Aïcha. Their world is turned upside down when the two sisters are brutally evicted from their flat in Aubervilliers and left on the streets. By day, they conceal their hardships to get through the end of the school year as normally as possible; by night, they turn into adventurers to survive in the hostile suburban environment. Marie will do everything she can to hide their distress from those around them, even to the extent of putting them in danger...

Celles qui parlaient tout le temps is being produced by Justin Taurand for Les Films du Bélier (already behind Klotz’s previous feature), and co-produced by Page 114 and Belgian company Frakas Productions. The feature, which has been pre-purchased by HBO, is backed by the CNC’s advance on receipts, Eurimages, the Ile-de-France region, the La Banque Postale Image Sofica, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and Wallimage. The 37-day shoot will run from 3 August-22 September in the Paris suburbs, with Colin Lévêque (nominated for the René for Best Cinematography for Kika) as director of photography. International sales will be handled by Kinology, and the French theatrical distribution will be entrused to KMBO.
