Francesco Carril and Linda Caridi to star in Dov’è la fiesta?
- Produced by Elsinore Film, The Apartment and Vision Distribution, Niccolò Gentili’s feature debut blends romantic comedy with a metropolitan adventure and will hit cinemas on 17 September
Dov’è la fiesta? (lit. "Where's the Party?"), the feature debut by Niccolò Gentili, will be released in Italian cinemas by Vision Distribution on 17 September. The contemporary romantic comedy combines emotion and humour against the backdrop of a fast-paced urban adventure. The film is being produced by Antonio Celsi and Giustino De Luca for Elsinore Film, Annamaria Morelli for The Apartment (a Fremantle company) and Francesca Cualbu for Vision Distribution, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture through the Fund for the Development of Investments in Cinema and Audiovisual Works, and in collaboration with Sky.
Written by Lisa Nur Sultan and Gentili himself – who have also co-written the screenplay for Zustissia, due for release on 15 October (see the news) – the movie follows Leo and Irene, played by Francesco Carril and Linda Caridi, a couple who have been dating for just three months and who, on New Year’s Eve, must finally define their relationship. However, on the decisive night, Leo’s car is stolen from outside Irene’s home, setting in motion a chaotic week involving police stations, insurance companies, vehicle-registration offices, thieves, relatives and unlikely encounters. The misadventure could turn into an opportunity to find not only the missing car, but also love.
Spanish thesp Francesco Carril recently appeared in Three Goodbyes and the series The New Years, as well as in titles such as You Have to Come and See It and The Other Way Around. Linda Caridi has received two David di Donatello nominations for Ricordi? and The Last Night of Amore. She recently appeared in the series Supersex, which earned her a Nastro d’Argento Grandi Serie Award, while her other credits include The Ties, Superheroes, Diabolik - Ginko all’attacco! and Sei fratelli.
The cast of Dov’è la fiesta? also includes Sergio Pierattini (Three Floors, The Traitor), Paola Michelini (Indagine su una storia d’amore), Niccolò Gentili himself, Lorenzo Balducci (Antartica - Quasi una fiaba, A True Story), Valentino Campitelli (Holy Shoes, Chiara), Cristiano Caccamo (No Place to Be Single, Le mie ragazze di carta) and Giorgio Tirabassi, whose most recent acting credits include The First Day of My Life, Il Pataffio and Freaks Out, and who previously stepped behind the camera to direct The Big Jump.
It is worth recalling that Lisa Nur Sultan has also penned the screenplay for Se domani non torno, directed by Paola Randi and inspired by the story of Giulia Cecchettin, which is set to be released in cinemas on 5 November (see the news).
The cinematography for Dov’è la fiesta? is entrusted to Ferran Paredes Rubio (The Commander, Twin Flower), while Roberto Di Tanna (The Big Fake, Per te) is handling the editing. The production design is by Gaia Moltedo (With the Grace of a God), and the costumes are by Andrea Cavalletto (Diva futura, Heads or Tails?).
The film’s international sales are handled by Vision Distribution.
