The purpose of the Festival (Bolzano, May 28th-29th, 2004) is to promote peace and mutual understanding amongst different peoples through works of film that address history, situation, life and problems of peoples or individuals who live in "borderlands". In this context the concept "borderlands" identifies places in which different languages, civilisations or ethnic groups either meet or clash, in any possible way; this is the case of the province where the Festival itself takes place.
Therefore, submitted films can depict any kind of positive or negative situation, and will only be evaluated on the basis of their overall value as works of film.
Not admitted are promotional and touristic films, and travel films not strictly dealing with the subject of "borderlands". The Artistic Management of the Festival takes the final decision on the consistency of the film to the subject of the Festival. Deadline: march 1st.
