by

At the end of a general meeting held on the night of February 4th on the issue of the renewal of the National Contract for Dubbing Workers, the assembly of dialogue writers, dubbing directors, dubbing assistants and dubbing actors has unanimously declared a week strike.

The whole category of dubbing workers will refrain from all professional performances from February 5th to Februrary 13th included, with a further 3 weeks strike at the discretion of the Union Leaders and work-to-rule until the signature of the new National Contract.

The decision was taken "after over a year of sterile talks and meetings with the dubbing company representatives, who even failed to show up at the meeting set for the afternoon of February 4th".
Both Unions and workers hope and expect to see "a more reliable and responsible counter-party on the other side of the table, a truly representative counter-party, sincerely willing to reach an overdue and just agreement".
