Trust sells Hawaii, Oslo in Rotterdam

Hawaii, Oslo, the Norwegian entry for a 2005 Oscar nomination in the Best Foreign language category, has been selected in the main competition at the 34th Rotterdam International Film Festival (January 26th-February 4th) where Zentropa’s sales arm Trust Film Sales will push for its international distribution.
Erik Poppe’s second feature film already seen by over 175,000 Norwegians, is the second part of his Oslo Trilogy, following the award winning Schpaaa (Bunch of Five). The film tells five love stories set in Oslo during the hottest day of the year.

Produced by Finn Gjerdrum for Paradox Spillefilm with support from the Norwegian Film Institute, the film will also open the Scandinavian Film Festival in Los Angeles on January 14th. Poppe is currently in the US for a 10-days promotion campaign ahead of the Oscars nominations announcement on January 25th. Trust Film Sales has already sold the film to A-Film Distribution for the Benelux.
In Rotterdam, Hawaii, Oslo will compete against 14 other films for the VPRO Tiger Awards which comes with a €10,000 envelope and the guarantee of its programming on Dutch TV.
