12 nominations for Jan Hrebejk

Full score for the 2004 local hit in the Czech Republic, Horem pádem ("Up and down") by Jan Hrebejk with 12 nominations at the 2005 Lions, the annual Czech awards that will be handed out on March 5th . Produced by TV channel Ceská Televize and Total HelpArt T.H.A, Horem pádem has grossed nearly $2,8 million in 17 weeks on Czech screens, a similar score to the previous film by the Czech filmmaker, real sweetheart at home since the last 10 years.
Two other films gathered the most nominations: Ivan Fila’s King of Thieves with 10 nominations and Marek Najbrt’s Champions with 7 nominations.
The 2003 French –Canadian co-production The Barbarian Invasions by Denys Arcand has already been chosen as the Best foreign film, beating Lost in Translation and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Finally Czech critics have voted Marek Najbrt’s Champions Best film of the year.
