Nkr 1.5M to 8 Ibsen films

by

The Norwegian Film Fund (NFF) and broadcaster NRK have chosen eight projects out of 250 as part of their Drama competition ‘Echoes of Ibsen’. Six out of the eight projects have been awarded Nkr 1.5M from the NFF and will be directed and produced outside of NRK’s Drama department, while the other two will be entirely produced and financed by NRK. The 28 minute-films will be shown on NRK1 as part of the celebration of Ibsen’s 100 years jubilee in the spring 2006.

The projects had to use original, contemporary stories with public appeal based on some of the characters, themes or ideas used in Henrik Ibsen’s works. The members of the jury Peter Bøe and Sirin Eide from the Norwegian Film Fund and Pål Hovengen Plassen from NRK chose eight modern stories: four comedies and four dramas.
Dobbel Saltowritten and directed by Lars Gran Petterson will be produced by Original Film in Tromsø; Ikea Family inspired by Peer Gynt will be directed by Pia Lykke and produced by Monster AS Production; Nora will be directed by Kristin Skogheim and produced by Paradox AS; Kjøter will be directed by Marius Holst and produced by Pål Sletaune’s company 4 1/2 production; Edderkoppfest will be directed by Arild Østin Ommundsen and produced by Muzfilm AS; Trøbbel will be written and directed by Dag Johan Haugerud for Motlys AS (Dragonflies). Finally the two NRK projects ARE Mari Monrad Vistven’s Terje Vigen and Johanne Helgeland’s Hvis jeg Faller.
