Hormigas en la boca for the opening of the Malaga Film Festival

by

This 8th edition of the Málaga Film Festival (22th-30th of April) will start with one of the official candidates for the competition, Hormigas en la boca (=ants in the mouth), a feature directed by Mariano Barroso and interpreted by Eduard Fernández, Ariadna Gil, Jorge Perugorría, and José Luís Gómez. Besides the competition, this year’s festival will grant Verónica Forqué the Málaga Prize, while the Ricardo Franco Prize will go to Gerardo Vera to reward him for his career as an artistic director. The retrospective section will be dedicated to Carlos Saura’s work.

The above-mentioned tributes will be complemented by two exhibitions. First, pictures taken by Carlos Saura himself on his films’ sets will be shown in the Italcable room. The second exhibition, which consists in a series of draughts for the different clothes and costumes used in Gerardo Vera’s movies, will take place in the Parador de San Rafael. The Aisge Fundation will also give Manuel Alexandre the ‘For all your career’ prize, a distinction honoris causa granted by his fellow-actors.
