A direct connection between Rome and Madrid

by

The Lazio Film Commission is acquiring a new European dimension. One month only after agreeing on a partnership with the Film Commission for the French region Île-de-France, the structure uniting the Cinecittà Holding and the province of Lazio will be signing, this Friday 18th of March, an agreement initiating their collaboration with the Madrid Film Commission.

This agreement will apply to all cinema and TV coproductions involving both provinces. Their official representatives —that is Alex Voglino, the Culture, Sports, Shows, and Tourism Secretary for the province of Lazio, Alessandro Usai, General Director of Cinecittà Holding, and Enrique Cerezo, President of the Madrid Film Commission— will meet in Rome, at the Cervantes Institute. Amongst the guests to this official signature ceremony, there will be many Italian producers and other personalities in cinema or culture in general.

After this agreement is secured, the Lazio Film Commission shall turn to Berlin, to complete a European quadrangle for cinema and TV coproductions. Common projects involving these regional Film Commissions, and through them, four European capitals, will be presented in a new section at the Cannes Film Festival.
