The David nominations

Giovanni Veronesi is up against Ferzan Ozpetek heading the list of the most nominations for the prestigious David di Donatello awards, the Italian equivalent of the Oscars. Manuale d'amore and Cuore sacro both have 12 nominations apiece.

Also competing in the Best Film category are Paolo Sorrentino with Le conseguenze dell'amore and Davide Ferrario with After Midnight. They both have a total of 10 nominations. Following on is Gianni Amelio with The Keys to the House (7 nominations) and the Frazzi twins with Certi bambini, nominated in 4 categories.

The Davids' award ceremony will be on April 29, broadcast live on RAI Uno.
