Marco Tullio Giordana will be competing for the Palme D'Or at this year's Cannes Film festival.
After Giordana's success of The Best of Youth, which won Un Certain Regard at Cannes in 2003 to then become a hit in France and around the world, the director is now in competition for the 58th edition of the festival with Quando sei nato non puoi più nasconderti, which takes a warts-and-all look at immigrants, as seen through the eyes of a child. The cast stars Alessio Boni, Michela Cescon and Matteo Gadola.

Quando sei nato non puoi più nasconderti is written by Giordana with Stefano Rulli and Sandro Petraglia, and is a co-production involving Cattleya/RAI Cinema and Babe Film. The Italian director will competing against some of the top names in world cinema. And they're all men, from Jim Jarmusch to David Cronenberg, Wim Wenders to Hou Hsiao-Hsien, Gus Van Sant to Lars von Trier.
