Walter & Virginia by Swedish director Suzanne Osten, has just been awarded NOK 1m from the Norwegian Film Fund towards its NOK14.4m budget. The film is a co-production between Sweden (FilmLance Film), Norway (Rubicon TV) and Denmark (Metronome Production). Co-written by Osten and Erik Uddenberg, it’s a love story set in an old-age home.
Suzanne Osten is working as an artistic director at the Unge Klara Theatre in Stockholm, as a writer/director for film and TV and as a teacher at the Dramatiska Institutet in the Swedish capital. Walter & Virginia will start filming on 23 May 2005 and its Norwegian release through Paramount Pictures is set for February 2006.
