by

In order to prepare the next September meeting in Lido at best, The Authors' Days section of the Venice Film Festival will be present in Cannes at the Noga Hilton, in the Italy-Cannes 2005 area (first floor), exactly where the election of the Director's Fortnight will take place, of which "the Author's Days" take their inspiration. Once again, directed by Giorgio Gosetti, who signs the second edition's selection with a small team of international experts (Agnès-Catherine Poirier, Tadeusz Sobolewski and Adrian Wootton), the independent session of the Mostra of Venice which will take place from September, 1st to September, 10th and will propose 12 films chosen within the latest world production according to quality and originality criteria.

"After the 2004 program which was entirely devoted to the European cinema, we now feel the need to tackle the global cinema", says Gosetti. "A year ago we were lucky to launch the project and see a great documentary film being awarded such as Darwin's Nightmare by Hubert Sauper and we hope to be well on the road to success."
The Authors' Days will not directly be awarding prizes but the films in selection will be able to receive the Europa Cinemas Label (if a European production) or the Netpac Award (if an Asiatic production) and if first works, they will compete for the Luigi De Laurentiis Award.
