Icon takes on Liam Neeson/Richard Gere film

Icon Entertainment International, the UK sales arm of Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey’s US group Icon Entertainment has just announced yesterday in Cannes a new pick up for world-wide distribution: Seraphim Falls starring Richard Gere and Liam Neeson. The feature film debut of David von Ancken, a TV director, is a psychological thriller set during the US Civil War. Neeson plays Colonel Carver whose final mission is to kill Gideon (Gere). The film in pre-production is produced by Icon’s David Flynn and Bruce Davey.
On Icon Entertainment International’s Cannes line-up is the Scottish film On a Clear Day starring Brenda Blethyn and Peter Mullan which opened Sundance this year. Gaby Dellal’s comedy drama about an unemployed 55-year old man who tries to salvage his self-esteem and tackle his demons by attempting to swim the English Channel was just sold to France (MK2), Portugal (Lusomundo), and Iceland (Skifan). The film produced by Dorothy Berwyn and Sarah Curtis will be released in the UK and Australian by Icon Distribution.
