Three contestants are disqualified

The organisers of the Golden Camera, the award which is granted every year to the best first film presented in Cannes, all sections included, have just decided that three of this year’s contestants having already directed a TV feature, they should be disqualified : the American directors Tommy Lee Jones with The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (produced by the French company EuropaCorp – in competition) and James Marsh with The King (Un Certain Regard), as well as the French director Karin Albou with La petite Jérusalem (International Critic’s Week). The Golden Camera is therefore down to 19 contestants.
