, selected in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes film festival, François Ozon revolves around his favourite themes : human relationships, family conflicts, homosexuality, couple, and death. Detail by detail, he gives a unpretentious yet very accurate description of his character’s inner torment and the changes his goes through. Melvil Poupaud’s excellent performance allows Ozon to deal with his character’s despair in a way which suggests the universal fear in front of the unknown. ‘The idea, says Ozon, is to make a trilogy on the notion of bereavement. After Sous le sable, which was a tough melodrama on how to handle the death of a loved one, Le temps qui reste is about one’s own death. What I intend to do in the third part is to deal with the death of a child.’ Le temps qui reste is produced by Olivier Delbosc and Marc Missonnier for Fidélité Productions (France). Celluloïd Dreams will handle international sales.
