Appetizer for a visual festival

After six years of a successful course in Thessaloniki , the International Panorama of Independent Filmmakers comes to Athens on Friday, may 27 and starts its seventh edition under a new roof. The event includes projections of awarded films of the 6th International Panorama in the national and international sections, as well as awarded short films and feature films in the documentary, animation, experimental and fiction sections (When we dance together, first film by the Greek Adrianos Georgantas and The Hero by the Angolan Zézé Gamboa, who received the First Work Prize at the Carthage Film Festival last year. Besides, the panorama provides a link between Greece and Turkey with the projections 100 Turkish short films (one minute long each) that were collected by the Turkish NGO "Cinema for Peace", a deep symbol at a time when Turkey's admission to Europe is at the centre of the debate in both side.

The schedule of the 7th International Panorama of Independent Film is not yet planned. But it's aiming to present "a mosaic of images that favour complexity and diversity". Artist, directors, professionals or amateurs are called for to submit their works. Last years the International Panorama showed 300 films from all over the world.
