Anthony Minghella has started filming in London his new film Breaking And Entering starring his favourite actor Jude Law (Cold Mountain, The Talented Mr Ripley) and Juliette Binoche who won an Oscar for Best supporting actress in Minghella’s The English Patient.

Other cast members include Robin Wright Penn, Vera Farmiga, Martin Freeman, Ray Winstone and Mark Benton. French cinematographer Benoit Delhomme (The Scent of Green Papaya) and Minghella’s usual music composer Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr Ripley and Cold Mountain) will contribute to the film’s highest quality as well as production designer Alex McDowell (Fight Club), line producer Anita Overland (The Claim) and Minghella’s long-time collaborator 1rst AD Steve Andrews.

The film is produced by Minghella and Sydney Pollack's Mirage Enterprises with Disney’s subsidiary Miramax Films and the Weinstein company (interim name for the Weinstein brothers’ new company) acting as co-producers.
Based on the director’s first original screenplay since his 1991 feature debut Truly, Madly, Deeply, Breaking And Entering follows a group of long-term Londoners and new arrivals whose lives intersect in the inner-city area of King’s Cross. When a landscape architect’s state of the art offices in a seedy part of town are repeatedly burgled, his investigations launch him out of the safety of his familiar world.
