ItaliaFilmFest, the best films of the season

The actress and filmmaker Liv Ullmann and the novelist Linn Ullmann, Liv and Ingmar Bergman's daughter, will be awarded the Fellini Award 2005 for the artistic excellence for Ingmar Bergman. The Award will be given unanimously by the jury composed by Mario Monicelli, Suso Cecchi D’Amico, Tonino Guerra, Ennio Morricone, Giuseppe Rotunno, Dante Ferretti, Vittorio De Seta among others, and presided over by Felice Laudadio.

The Fellini Award will conclude the ItaliaFilmFest days which will take place from May, 30 to June, 4 at the "Casa del Cinema" with the screenings of the 16 best Italian production films of the 12 last months.

The films which are submitted to the jury have been selected – among the works released in cinemas or presented in Italian or foreign festivals between June 2004 and May 2005 – by a restrictive committee of critics and Italian film specialists:

Nessun messaggio in segreteria, by Paolo Genovese e Luca Miniero

Quando sei nato non puoi più nasconderti, by Marco Tullio Giordana

Il resto di niente, by Antonietta De Lillo

The Awards will be given by the jury of the ItaliaFilmFest composed by the Awards "holders" or their heirs (Massimo Cristaldi, Luca Magnani, Giovanna Gravina Volonté) and will bear the following titles:
- Franco Cristaldi Award for the best producer
- Mario Monicelli Award for the best filmmaker
- Suso Cecchi D’Amico Award for the best script
- Tonino Guerra Award for the best subject
- Anna Magnani Award for the best actress
- Gian Maria Volonté Award for the best actor
- Ennio Morricone Award for the best composer
- Giuseppe Rotunno Award for the best cinematographer
- Dante Ferretti Award fo the best stage designer
- Roberto Perpignani Award for the best editor
- Piero Tosi Award for the best costumes
- Vittorio De Seta Award for the best documentary (awarded as from 2006)

The ItaliaFilmFest Awards will be given on Saturday, June 11 2005 at the Greek theatre during the inaugural evening of the Taormina BNL FilmFest (11-18 June).
