AVAPI demands more transparency from IVAC

The Valencian Independent Producers Association, AVAPI, demanded more transparency and objectivity from the Valencian Institute of Cinematography (IVAC) in the allocation of their subsidies. Valencian producers hope that the next session will "this time" take place in a spirit of impartiality, while taking into account the quality of the projects presented. According to the Association, IVAC "was incapable of assuming its responsibilities in an effective way with regard to the promotion and development of the audiovisual sector in Valencia".

AVAPI claims Valencian productions decreased in both quality and quantity and those in charge at IVAC have proved themselves incapable of increasing financial support to a level that would allow the producers of the region to compete on a level playing field with producers from other parts of Spain. AVAPI members underlined that if the current policies were to continue, they would demand changes at the head of the organization.
