AWARDS Germany

Nominations for the Short Tigers

by

For the sixth successive year, the FFA is taking advantage of the Munich Film Festival to organise the Short Tiger Awards, a short film contest for students in cinema schools, designed to help a new generation of young directors and producers finance future projects.
An independent jury of professionals has distinguished 6 out of the 34 works, deeming them to be ‘excellent quality shorts’ : Namus by Döndü Kilic (produced by Sumy Vásquez), Gigolo, directed and produced by Bastian Schweitzer, Jam Session by Izabela Plucinska (an animation film produced by Jamila Wenske), Alim Market by Özgür Yildirim (produced by Raoul Reinert), Chaim by Jonathan Greenfield (produced by the director and Benjamina Mirnik), and Christina ohne Kaufmann by Sonja Heiss (produced by Janine Jackowski and Susanne Ehlers). These six nominees will receive 15,000 euros each. The two winners, whose names will be revealed at the final ceremony on the 27th of June, will get €10,000 more.
This year, for the first time, two new partners have joined the event : the Bavarian broadcaster RD and the General Union of German Exhibitors (HDF).
