Legami sporchi, a tribute to B-movies
Legami sporchi, by Giorgio Molteni, a tribute to B-movies, will be released in Italy on the 17th of June by P.E.C.A.- AB Film Distributors. This thriller, inspired by comics and Italian detective movies from the 70's and co-produced by Italy and Spain (P.E.C.A., Surf Film, and Jacinto Santos Madrid), is played by the Italian-American actor Thomas Arana, alongside Edoardo Sala and Ines Nobili. The film focuses on an investigation into the death of a rich old man who left everything he had to his young and beautiful lover, Dalilah, an obscure object of desire, who enjoys stripping in front of the webcam when she chats on the internet.
“’B-movie’ almost sounds like an insult for a director,” says Giorgio Molteni —who directed, two years ago, the ambitious film Il servo ungherese—, “although Tarantino gave the genre more credit. In Legami sporchi, I am dealing with the dark side of any human being's mind.” The director admits to being inspired, especially for the dialogue, by American hard-boiled novelists, such as Hammet and Spillaine, and, more importantly, James Cain (The Postman Always Rings Twice), “a major author who ended up writing crap movies for Hollywood.”
Legami sporchi, shot in English in Rimini and Riccione, had a decent budget (€1,250,000) thanks to Mariano Arditi, former porn exhibitor and distributor (known for releasing in Italy, in 1977, the infamous Deep Throat.
