Henrik Ruben Genz’s second feature film Chinaman will be representing Denmark in the official competition section of the 40th Karlovy Vary Film Festival (1-9 July, 2005).
The melodrama starring US-Chinese star Vivian Wu (The Pillow Book) and Danish actor Bjarne Henriksen (The Celebration) is based on a script by the prolific and talented Kim Fupz Aakeson (In Your Hands, Accused). The film, a Danish version of Green Card in which a man makes an arranged marriage with a Chinese woman, is Genz’s second feature film following the successful children’s film Someone Like Hodder.
The film is produced by Fine & Mellow Productions in co-production with Norway’s Maipo Film, and international sales are handled by Nordisk Film International Sales.
