'Business days' in Rome
From the 21st to the 23d of June, the Film Business Days, organised by the exhibitors of the Anec and the Anem and the distributors of the Unidim, will gather with 2000 professionals (exhibitors, distributors, producers, directors, filmmakers and journalists) in Rome.
During the event, the most successful actors and films released in 2004 will be awarded Golden Tickets. Films to be released in the next few months will also be screened, together with their trailers. Some of these screenings are national premieres, as is the case for Crush by Paul Haggis (Filmauro), A History of Violence by David Cronenberg (01 Distribution), The Interpreter by Sidney Pollack (Eagle), and Woody Allen's Match Point (Medusa).
As far Italian cinema is concerned, every day a new film (completed or still in post-production) will be presented by the actors and filmmakers themselves. Carlo Verdone, Silvio Muccino, Massimo Boldi and Christian De Sica will, for instanc,e join producer Aurelio De Laurentiis to announce the upcoming release of Filmauro's latest production. Valeria Golino, alongside the directors Fausto Paravidino and Antonio Capuano, will present Texas and Solo un bambino. Pasquale Scimeca and the actress Anna Bonaiuto will talk about Passione di Giosué l’ebreo ('The passion of Joseph the Jew'), while Roberto Faenza and Luca Guadagnino (with his producer Francesca Neri), will show, respectively, I giorni dell’abbandono and Melissa P.
A press-conference will be held to present this year's figures for Italian cinema . Other meetings and seminars will focus on themes of major concern to film professionals, such as 'commercials in theatres' (12th June). Finally, during these three days, the Magis showroom will allow all participants will be shown demonstrations of state-of-the-art screening devices, especially digital ones.
