Youth saves the South

Safi, la petite mère (France/Italy), by the Burkinabe director Rasò Ganemtoré, and Aria (Italy), by Claudio Noce, are the winners of the thirteenth Archipelago, the International Festival dedicated to Short Films and New Images, alongside two British digital productions (Little Things by Daniel Greaves and City Paradise by Gäelle Denis) and an animation short from the Italian Experimental Film Centre, La fiera dei morti ("a feast for the dead"), by Francesco Vecchi and Barbara Dossi (eMovie section). The jury also granted special distinctions to Hjemmekamp (Norway) by Martin Lund and Snur (Irak) by Zahavi Sanavi.
Cecilio, by Andrea Mazza, won the Regional VideoRome Contest, while the young actress Alba Rohrwacher got a special distinction for her roles in no less than three of the short films in competition.
