Johan in a big football family

24-Year-old Dutch heartthrob Michiel Huisman is currently filming his second title role after last year's turn as the medieval knight Floris [+see also:

, in the film of the same name. This time around, he is Johan in the first cinematic venture of TV director Nicole van Kilsdonk.

Johan is the eleventh male child in a football crazy family in which each child is named after a famous Dutch football player. The parents are of course ecstatic to now have a complete team, but Johan (who would he be named after?) has other plans. Instead of becoming a professional football player like all his older brothers, he wants to be a singer. He also has romantic feelings for the girl next door called Evy, but she has attracted the attention of his brother Johnny too. The screenplay of Johan was written by Mieke de Jong (Lepel) and is described as a musical and touching feel good film.

Huisman, who in real life is not only an actor but also the lead singer of the band Fontane, will be joined by Johnny de Mol (Eilandgasten) who will play his brother Johnny and by Caro Lenssen, who will portray Evy. The film will premiere in the Netherlands on 6 October of this year and will finally be distributed by Buena Vista International Netherlands, who picked it up after initial distributor UIP backed out. Johan is produced by Egmond Film and Television.
