DOCUMENTARY Switzerland

The Locarno Summer Film School

by

The sixth Summer Film School, which will take place in Locarno from the 31st of July to the 6th of August, is entitled 'The eye, the hand, and the machine: representing work in documentary cinema'.
This year, the Summer School will, indeed, focus on the different ways documentary films have dealt with work-related issues. The relationship between the cinema, documentaries, and work will be studied from all angles, including the need to renew outdated representations.

Famous guests will attend the festival, such as the directors Mimmo Calopresti (Italy) and Alexander J. Seiler (Switzerland), the professionals Heino Deckert (Germany), Luciano Rigolini (France), Federico Jolli (Switzerland) and Alessandro Signetto (Italy), and, to represent academia, Marco Bertozzi (Italy) and Yvonne Zimmermann (Switzerland).
