EVENT Belgium

The Directors' Fortnight spends a week in Brussels

by

As the Critics' Week is settling in Beirut for a few days, the Directors' Fortnight, after Paris and Rome, is visiting Brussels and will stay at the Kinépolis Imagibraine until the 8th of July.

This event, organised in partnership with the Flanders International Film Festival (which takes place in Gand every October), is part of 'Cinémanie', a programme which consists of screening, each week, a selection of arthouse films in multiplexes for the wide public to get a taste of the 'special atmosphere' in these films and enjoy 'the world's finest works'. It is fantastic to be able to discover the rich selection of the 37th Directors' Fortnight in huge comfortable state of the art theatres and see these films cohabitate with large American productions (such as Star Wars Episode 3, Madagascar and the recently released Batman). And yet, it’s a shame this quality programming happens only once a year.
