Cecchi Gori theatres up for auction
The network of theatres which Vittorio Cecchi Gori owns in Rome —seven cinemas including the prestigious Adriano, 2330 seats in the city centre— will be auctioned, starting at 10,120,000 euros. Following a court-decision, the auction will take place on the 1Oth of October.
The auction sale was ordered by judges on account of the considerable amount of money the Tuscan producer (from Florence) owes his bank. Cecchi Gori, who had just resumed producing after a difficult period on a personal and a judicial level. Consumer associations are lobbying the Lazio region to buy the theatres to keep any future investor from altering these historical buildings.
