Locarno revives the 80's in New-York

Besides the film in competition, Italy will be represented at the Locarno Film Festival (3-13 August) by Edo Bertoglio's Face Addict, chosen in the official selection, out of competition.
This film made of personal memories and old pictures and produced by Downtown Pictures , Marco Mueller's company, and Amka Films (Switzerland), looks back at the vibrant 80's in New York. Face Addict is a kind of 'walk-movie', an urban walk in a time and a world which have now disappeared. Bertoglio introduces us to the Downtown Scene, a crowd of artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Jim Jarmush, Deborah Harry, John Lurie, and many more.

Edo Bertoglio worked for a long time as a photographer for Interview (Andy Warhol's magazine), as well as Vogue and Rolling Stone, amongst others. He also made famous video clips and record covers for fashionable groups. He spent fourteen years in New-York which he is now trying to rediscover, twenty years on, with his friend Walter Steding, a painter and a musician who used to be Warhol's assistant.
