NEW RELEASE UK

Midsummer reggae

by

Not unlike the Beatles, who could 'get a tan by standing in the English rain', this Summer the British public will be able to do so at the cinema. On the 15th of July, Blue Dolphin will release One Love, the sunny award-winning movie by Rick Elgood and Don Letts (Dancehall Queen) already known as 'Best Jamaican Film Ever', in the UK.

One Love, written by Trevor Rhone based on an original story by the producer Yvonne Deutschman (cf.: interview), is a musical Romeo and Juliet; it depicts the complicated love story of a rasta musician, played by Ky-mani Marley (son of Bob himself), and a Christian gospel singer interpreted by Cherine Anderson, who already got an award for her role (Best Actress at the Urbanworld Film Festival in New York).

Not only is One Love likely to please the eyes with wonderful images of rural Jamaica, but it will also appeal to music-lovers with a beautiful soundtrack (elected Best Soundtrack in Monaco) featuring Bob Marley classics, Sean Paul, Shaggy and more.

The film, also starring Vas Blackwood (from Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels) and Idris Elba (launched by a HBO series), was produced by Yvonne Deutschman, Shelaagh Ferrell, and the Norwegian producer Bjorn Eivind Aarskog for One Love Films and Exposed/Euromax Productions, and supported by the UK Film Council and Baker Street Media. The German company Sola Media GmbH is in charge of international sales.
