How to apply forProducing in Southern Countries:
1. you must send a CV and a letter of motivation written by the producer (obligatory) and, if you wish, a personal letter explaining why you would like to participate (facultative)
2. The film project must be presented in the following form:
- a synopsis and a screenplay (dialogue continuity) or a developed treatment
- a provisional budget and funding plan related regarding both the development and the actual film.
3. The filmmaker or scriptwriter’s filmography and statement (obligatory) as well as that of the producer (facultative).
The project must be a feature film project for cinema. TV film projects will not be taken into consideration. Only young filmmakers (aged 25 to 40) with experience of production (e.g. feature films, short films, TV films, commercials) are eligible.The producer cannot be the director of the film as well.
. Selected applicants must speak French or English. Training will be held in both languages with a simultaneous translation system.
The selection will be done by an ad hoc committee which will include international experts such as producers, directors, scriptwriters, distributors, etc. A maximum of ten projects will be selected.
As in previous years, the festival organisers will ask the cultural services of the French Embassies and on the “Fonds Sud” network to examine the validity of the projects. Valid projects will then be forwarded via diplomatic bag (French Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
Applicants can also send their application directly to the Festival des 3 Continents no later than 16th August 2002Applicants will be notified in writing by the end of September 2002.
