Hungary’s “shooting star” is Szonja Oroszlàn who first came to the forefront of public and industry attention in Hungary’s most popular domestic production of 2002, My Kind of America by Gàbor Herendi. That same year she was voted Actress of the Year by the readers of Story Magazine.
Despite her relative youth (24), the Czech Republic’s Tatiana Vilhelmovà has already made some 20 films. She made a spectacular debut in Navrat Idiota (The Return of the Idiot) directed in 2002 by Sasa Gedeon, and won the best actress award at the Buenos Aires Independent Film Festival. She also worked in Bohdam Slama’s Divoké Vcely (The Wild Bees), Devkatdò (Girlie) by Benjamin Tucek (2002) and in Andrea Sedlakova’s My Father and Other Men (2002)
Greek Marilita Lambropoulou wil represent her country in Berlin. She is very popular with home audiences for her work in films like Athens Blues by George Panoussopoulos (2002) and The King by Nikos Grammatikos (2002), for which she won the “Quality Award”.
