New industry screenings at Copenhagen Film Festival

The third Copenhagen International Film Festival (August 18-28, 2005) will organise for the first time two days of professional screenings of a dozen new Danish feature films and feature length documentaries that have not been screened at any other festival and have not yet opened in Denmark.
Aimed international buyers and festival programmers, the mini-market from August 23rd to August 24th is organised by the Copenhagen International Film Festival with the festival department of the Danish Film Institute, in collaboration with two leading Scandinavian sales companies Trust Film Sales and Nordisk Film International Sales.

Over 60 professionals have been invited by the festival which will provide two nights accommodation in a four-star hotel in the Danish capital. The participants who will arrive on August 22nd will be able to attend an informal barbeque hosted by Zentropa Entertainment, and on August 24th, it will be Nordisk Film’s turn to invite the international film professionals to a luncheon in their 1906 studios.

The official launch of the Copenhagen Film Festival’s full programme will take place on July 30th with a sneak-preview of Nicolas Winding Refn’s Pusher 3 [+see also:

, but two major filmmakers have already been confirmed as key guests for this year’s event: UK filmmaker Nick Roeg (Don’t Look Now) will be heading the Jury of the festival and will hand out the Golden Swan Awards on August 27th, while Greek-born director Costa-Gavras will attend the festival as guest of honour and will receive a Golden Swan Lifetime Achievement Award.
