La Doublure tells the story of a rich businessman (Daniel Auteuil) caught on camera by a paparazzi with his mistress, top-model (Alice Taglioni). To avoid a tumultuous and costly divorce (since his wife has the majority control of the financial empire), he makes use of an anonymous man (Gad Elmaleh) who also appeared on the photo. This guy, a simple driver living in a council house with his girlfriend (Virginie Ledoyen) will find himself forced to share his house with the billionaire’s mistress to put the wife (Kristin Scott Thomas) off the scent. A perfect situation for multiple misunderstandings and crossed-paths.

With a budget of 25,3 million euros, La Doublure is an European co-production headed by French Gaumont, in association with their countrymen at Efve Films and at TF1 Films Production, with the Italians at Kairos, the Belgians at Artémis Productions and with the aid of Belgian federal government tax shelter. Pre-bought by Canal +, the film is sold internationally by Gaumont under the English title The Valet
