13 UK films compete for Michael Powell Award

Steven Woolley’s Stoned, David Mckenzie’s Asylum, Richard E.Grant’s Wah-Wah, Saul Metzstein’s Guy X are among the 13 new UK feature films part of the British Gala section of the Edinburgh International Film Festival (August 17-28) that will try to win the prestigious Michael Powell Award given each year to the Best new British feature film.
The winner announced on the festival’s closing night, August 28th, will be chosen by a jury composed of producer Michael Kuhn, director Antonia Bird, Irish actress Eva Birthistle, US scriptwriter Paul Mayersberg and US actor Alessandro Nivola. Last year’s winner was Pawel Pawlikowski’s My Summer of Love [+see also:
