New Head of BVI UK

Robert Mitchell has been promoted from vice president of marketing/sales and deputy managing director to senior vice president and managing director of Buena Vista International (BVI) UK. He will replace Daniel Battsek who will soon move to New York to take up his new position as president of Miramax Films.
As the new head of BVI UK, Mitchell will oversee the company’s distribution, marketing, and publicity activities in the UK and will report to BVI Europe executive vice president and general manager Stuart Saller as well as to BVI president Mark Zoradi. «Having worked with Robert for more than a decade, I truly believe he is the best possible person to head BVI’s UK team», said Zoradi.
Mitchell and Battsek both worked together at the independent distribution company Palace Pictures in the mid 1980s, and when Battsek was hired by the Walt Disney Studios to set up Buena Vista UK arm in 1992, Mitchell followed him as marketing director.
In 2004, BVI UK was the third most successful distribution company in the UK with a 14.5% market share.
