New boss at Metrodome

Peter Urie is the new Managing Director of Metrodome Distribution following the resignation of Andrew Keyte who is leaving for a new post in the television industry.
Urie joins Metrodome backed by a strong career in the TV business. He worked for 12 years at the BBC in various roles before founding the two companies Television Support Services and Media Merchants TV specialised in children’s content for ITV and the BBC. In 2002, both companies were bought by HIT Entertainment where Urie continued to work as vice president, Head of production Europe whilst remaining Managing Director of TSS and Media Merchants.
Keyte had been working for two and a half years at Metrodome, alongside Sara Frain, General Manager, theatrical who will now report to Urie.

Metrodome is one of the most active buyers of Scandinavian films in the UK. The company released Mikael Hafström’s Evil on June 24th, Thomas Vinterberg’s Dear Wendy on August 5th, and upcoming releases include Björn Runge’s Daybreak and Lars von Trier’s Manderlay [+see also:

. Other European films to be released in the UK by Metrodome include the Irish/UK co-production The Mighty Celt directed by Pearce Elliot set to open on August 26th and the UK/Luxembourg co-production Rag Tale directed by Mary McGuckian to be released on October 7th.
