This year, the retrospective and the debates organised within the section 'Working Class' (created last year) will focus on Andy Warhol's contribution to contemporary art and cinema. The Viennale will also dedicate a special section to the 46-year-old Portuguese director Pedro Costa, maker of five full-length films, fiction and documentary, (including O Sangue, 1990, and No quarto da Vanda, 2000), a radical work-in-progress by a despairing Utopian. A tribute will also be dedicated to the actress Jane Birkin, including twelve of her films.

The full programme will be published on 9/29.
