The Israeli director Amos Gitai will be the seventh jury member at the forthcoming Venice Film Festival (31 August – 10 September). This appointment completes the team charged with awarding the Golden Lion and all the other prizes granted to features in competition in the main section.

The international jury for Venice 62 is presided over by the Italian scenographer Dante Ferretti and includes the Chinese writer Acheng, the French director Claire Denis, the German director Edgar Reitz, the Icelandic actress and musician Emiliana Torrini and the American producer Christine Vachon.
