FESTIVALS Belgium

Two Belgian films at San Sebastian

by

Two first films from Belgium will be screened within the Zabaltegi-New Directors section at the 53e San Sebastian International Film Festival which runs from the 15th to the 23rd September, alongside 24 other films battling it out for the New Director Prize sponsored by Altadis to the tune of 90.000 euros.

Enn Ander Zijn Geluk (Someone else's happiness) by Fien Troch tells the story of a cold sombre inquest following an accident in which a child was hit by a car. Produced by Prime Time in co-production with Dutch Motel Films, it is the first feature from a young director whose last three shorts have toured the festivals. She also directed a number of commercials and acted in the film Saint Cyr by Patricia Mazuy. In the casting for this first film is Jan Decleir one of the most important Belgian Flemish actors. The film is set for release in Belgium in November 2005.

, interpreted, produced (Courage Mon Amour Films) and directed by Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon. Fiona runs a fast food place and discovers the cold room accidentally and falls in love. The next day she leaves to search for a real iceberg. The first feature is not the first work from these left-field artists from the theatre, who have cultivated absurdity and poetic humour in numerous theatrical events worldwide. The film will be released theatrically in Belgium on the 7th of December 2005 by Cinéart-Cinélibre.
