New training programmes for MEDIA 2005-2006
The MEDIA Programme had made public the list of its financing of training programmes for the academic year 2005-2006 : The MEDIA Programme will support the setting up of 44 initiatives thanks to aid totalling more than €8 million.
Only three initiatives can genuinely be considered as new:
- P.R.I.M.E. : Training for film project development (development strategy, marketing and finance) proposed by Transfocal GmbH in Germany. A dozen producers and other independents will be selected for 3 residential training sessions over 5 days in Berlin, Vienna and Beaune.
- SCRIPTEAST (East European Scriptwriters Lab): Training for writing and the development of projects (case studies, screenings, conferences, networking). The proposed formula consists of 2 residential workshops of one week in Poland and at Cannes. Proposed by the Polish foundation Niezalezna Fundacja Filmowa, it targets twenty professionals from new EU member states.
- Maia Workshops : This Italian project, proposed by Fabulafilm comes in two parts. The first concentrates on development with 2 workshops over 6 days at Sienne. Three seminars of 2 days will focus on content and the market, European co-productions and the digital domain.
