Ciné-Bulletin celebrates 30 years

by

Review for professionals in the Swiss audiovisual industry founded in 1975, Ciné-Bulletin this month celebrates its 30th anniversary! This monthly bilingual (French and German) magazine with information and debate – whose editorial staff has been relaying news of Swiss cinema to Cineuropa since 2003 – is born of an initiative by David Streiff, director of the Swiss Film Centre (today Swiss Films) who later became director of the Locarno Festival then on to the Federal office for Culture till 2005. It has become a single publication bringing together information from the various cinema associations, aiding communication between people in all branches and the three linguistic regions of the country. With a print-run of around 3000 copies and 11 editions per year, edited by 41 professional organisations, institutions and festivals, Ciné-Bulletin has become an indispensable link between all the sectors of the Swiss audiovisual industry: creation, production, distribution, exhibition, promotion, festivals, etc. The publication marks the event with a cartoon by animated filmmaker Jonas Raeber on the cover of its 360th edition.
