Bordeaux awards its Grand Prix to a first film

film profile] won the Grand Prix at the 7th International Festival of Women’s Cinema in Bordeaux. And so, the Vague d’or went to this first feature by Ruxandra Zenide (30), a director of Rumanian origin in Geneva, which recounts the awakening of a young 16 year girl old brought up as a boy by a despotic father.
Already in competition in August in Sarajevo and Montreal (World Film Festival), this Swiss-Rumanian co-production (Pacific Films in Geneva and Strada Film in Rumania) opened the Cinéma Tout Ecran, Festival international for film and television whose 11th edition runs, in Geneva, from the 31st October to the 5th November. Ryna which also represents Switzerland in the section "New Faces in European Cinema" at 19th edition of the AFI Los Angeles Film Festival (3 - 13 November) and in competition at the 54th Mannheim-Heidelberg Festival (17 - 26 November). It will later be screened in Greece at the 46th Thessalonika Festival (18 - 26 November).
