8 European faces in L.A.

The European Film Promotion's event "New Faces in European Cinema" will take place for the second year at the AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival (3 – 13 November). EFP members selected a total of 8 emerging European directors and producers to participate in the initiative, which will include an official introduction to the American press and film industry on the 5th of November, as well as the usual Q&A's with the audience after the screenings.

Following the success of the 2004 edition, with German Soundless's director Mennan Yapo about to film his first Hollywood film for TriStar, the "New Faces in European Cinema" are:

Czech Pavel Strnad, director of Wrong Side Up;
Finnish Markus Selin, producer of Addiction;
German Christian Alvart, director of Antibodies;
Icelandic Ari Alexander Magnusson, director of Screaming Masterpiece;
Deutsch Gijs van de Westelaken, producer of 06/05 The Sixth of May;
Swedish Josef Fares, director of Zozo;
Swiss Ruxandra Zenide, director of Ryna;
and British Richard Bracewell, director of The Gigolos.

According Claudia Landsberger, President of EFP, "This year we are again delighted to introduce a selection of European films that highlight the unique distinctiveness and originality of each of the countries represented and help bring them to as wide an audience as possible".
