"Our aim is to increase the market on our side of Europe and to revive the interest that foreign agents bring to our country's productions. A good example of it took place last year, when a Japanese distributor bought the rights to Mój Nikifor by Krzysztof Krauze", said Stefan Laudyn, the festival's director.

The program reserved to the profesionals offers over 20 works, half of these being Polish productions, namely Feliks Falk, Dorota Kędzierzawska, Piotr Trzaskalski, Konrad Niewolski y Krzysztof Zanussi's new films. We must also mention the works of the Russians (Balabanov and Fedorchenko), the Eslovenian (Cvitkovič), the estonians (Priit Tender, Kaspar Jancis, Ülo Pikkov), the Chech(Procházková) the Slovak (Šulík), the Hungarian(Gauder) and the Georgian (Tutberidze).
The marketing and sales aspects of Eastern and Central European produced films will be disscused in the conference organised for Saturday October 16th. On that same day the organisers will welcome their guests of honour: Syd Field will give a masterclass on scripts, and Alan Parker, who has just presented two of his most famous films: The commitments and Pink Floyd The Wall.

CentEast is organised by the Warsaw Film Foundation with support from TV network Polsat, of the EU's MEDIA programme and the ministry of culture.
