Go North!
After last year's success, the nomadic festival Go North, which presents a selection of German films in several Scandinavian cities, is about to start in Stockholm.
From the 28 to the 30 October, German films will bring to the Swedish capital (at the Sture theatre) recent and successful features who have already been acclaimed at many festivals, such as Der Fischer und seine Frau by Doris Dörrie, Barefoot by Til Schweiger, Playa Del Futuro by Peter Lichtefeld, and Zeppelin by Gordian Maugg. The students' short film selection called Next Generation 2005, which has already travelled to other places in Europe, will also be screened. Go for Zucker!, where Dani Levy films a compulsive gambler forced to cohabitate with his Jewish family, will be shown today for the opening, in presence of the actress, Hannelore Elsner, and the script-writer, Holger Franke.
Next month, from the 28th of November to the 1st of December, most of these movies as well as the short film programme will be screened at the Grand Teatret in Copenhagen. Summer in Berlin by Andreas Dresen, a poetic movie about the daily joys and sorrows of two girl friends, will be presented at the opening, as it was, recently, in Paris for the German Film Festival. The Danish capital will also host a producers' meeting.
