The Ministry of Culture gives gold
Within the framework of the German short film prize for 2005 (Deutschen Kurzfilmpreis 2005), Christina Weiss, German Minister of Culture, has just awarded three Golds, female/male by Daniel Lang (in the category 'less than 7 minutes'), Vorletzter Abschied by Heiko Hahn (7 to 30 minutes), and Mast Qalandar, a documentary made at the Potsdam-based Konrad Wolf film and TV school and co-produced by gop03 Filmproduktion and Till Passow. The directors will receive 30,000 euros each.
These prizes follow the Script Prize granted a few days ago. Last Friday, Mrs. Weiss congratulated Harry Flöter for the script of Bunker 5, which deals with disillusioned youth and should be shot next year, according to the producer, 2Pilots. 25,000 of the 30,000 euros granted have to be used for the writing of a new artistic script.
