FESTIVALS Switzerland

Documentaries at Montreal

by

Particularly evident this year at Montreal, where the international festivals have followed one another since the start of the Autumn, Swiss cinema once more meets the Quebec public.
After the World Film Festival, the International Film Festival– whose Grand Prix went to Arbres de Josh by Peter Entell (Show and Tell Films, Founex) – and the New Film Festival, the 8th Montreal International Documentary Encounters (10 - 20 November) welcomes five Swiss films, screened in the presence of their directors.
Exit by Fernand Melgar (Climage, Lausanne) has been selected in the section "Parcours intimes". Unser America by Kristina Konrad (Maximage, Zurich) as well as L'accord (The deal) by Nicolas Wadimoff and Béatrice Guelpa (Akka Films, Geneva) figures in the programme "Democracy in all its forms". Finally, in the series "Territories of the real", Antoine Cattin presents Vivre en paix (Live in peace), co-directed by Pavel Kostomarov (Kinoko Prod., Saint-Pétersbourg), and François Bovy shows his Melodias (Les films de la dernière heure, Lausanne).
