MEDA Films Development (MFD) is a support fund that helps producers and script writers in the 10 Mediterranean MEDA countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestina, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey) in creating associations between them and in developing the best conditions possible (between 2000 and 2004 is the Empresa Pública de Gestión de Programas Culturales in Seville which managed a similar fund called MEDEA). In order to do this, it organizes three 8-day work sessions annually in Marrakech. The candidatures for the production companies will be known from this moment ‘til ni later than Jan’ 2006. The entry form can be downloaded from Ali n' Prod. For each feature film, the candidate must include a 2 page synopsis at most, a dialogue script as detailed as possible, a statement of purpose an CV from both the author and the producer, as well as a presentation of the production society in charge. There must be 6 samples of each either in English or French.

It’s the Ali n’ Productions de Casablanca society who’s behind this project and is in charge of managing it, with help from the Fondation du Festival International du Film de Marrakech and the Centre cinématographique marocain. The direct partners to Ali n’Productions are: Nomadis Images (Tunisia), Equinoxe TBC (France) et Stand By (Italy).
